Justine Laurie, CPA, Chief Reckoner
Justine graduated from Boston University’s School of Management with a concentration in Finance in 2003, and has a background in financial services and sales. In 2009, She switched her focus to accounting and obtained her CPA license, later earning her MBA with a concentration in Accounting from Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Management in 2015. After a few years working for larger regional CPA firms, she started her own firm in 2012 and has never looked back!
Justine is a mom of two tiny humans, Ella and Kellan, as well as a dachshund, Ernie, and a yellow lab, Periwinkle. Her husband, Michael, retired as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician from the United States Army in 2017, and after 10 years of moving around the country, they returned “home” to Gloucester, Massachusetts. In her spare time, she loves boating, hiking, biking, and road-tripping with her family. She also volunteers her time as Treasurer to The Sunrise Fund, the Gloucester Education Foundation, and the East Gloucester Elementary School PTO.

Amanda Kroll, Girl Friday
Amanda started working for Justine as her assistant in 2020 after transitioning to remote work from the corporate world. After finishing her MBA in early 2020, she knew she was ready for a change from her role as an account manager at a large corporation. Her role at Modern Reckoning is diverse, and she loves that no two days are the same and that she can work remotely from anywhere.
Outside of working hours, Amanda loves to spend time with her dogs, travel, and crochet. If you ever catch her on a Zoom call, there’s a good chance you will get to see her wall of yarn, and maybe even a cameo of one of her pups!
